Hampden Park is a truly outstanding stadium. For over a hundred years this venue has awed thousands of fans, and despite having to reduce it capacity from 150,000 to 52,000, it remains one of the most inspiring stadiums in the world today.

For every Scotsman, Hampden is something to be proud of. As well as being blessed with a five star rating it has a history about which everyone in Scotland is well aware.

Until the opening of Macarana in 1950, Hampden was the biggest ground in the world. It also boasts the world record attendance for both international and club matches, of a massive 149,415 and 147,365 respectively.

The Stadium is graded as a Five Star stadium by UEFA. The only other ground in Scotland that has Five Star status is Ibrox.

Arguably the most memorable European Cup Final, Real Madrid v Eintracht Frankfurt, was held at Hampden in May 1960 with Real Madrid winning 7-3. Over 130,000 Scottish supporters were enthralled by this memorable match.

Whilst fulfilling its role as the National Stadium, Hampden has remained the home of the Scottish Football League team, Queen's Park.

Hampden Park is a stadium to be proud of, providing a home for the Scotland team, a neutral venue for cup semi-finals and finals and a first-class facility for a wide range of events.

It is Scotland's National Stadium and there is not a ground in Britain that has comparable facilities.
